Friends & Family

Hi All!

I hope everyone is having a wonderful fall and surviving the sugar withdrawals as the Halloween candy disappears...

We've had a fun week! My hubby, rAc, rarely travels, but this week he is in California all week long for a conference. Since we live in Virginia, this is kind of a big deal to my girls. Daddy is very far away and there are times that we can't call because of the time difference, but it has been interesting for sure!

Monday and Tuesday, I let BigPreppyGirl miss preschool and she went to her Mimi's house - Mimi & Papa live out in the country and my girls have so much fun out there! Lindsey loved going away for some one on one time with her Mimi, no sharing her with BabyPreppyGirl!! So BabyPreppyGirl and I enjoyed a couple of quiet, stress free, chaos free days until Lindsey came home on Tuesday night. Then my MIL brought her back and we all went out for Chinese dinner and she spent the night, the girls were in heaven!!

Wednesday, we met a couple of my friends and their kids and went to the local business airport for dinner. It sounds funny, I know, but it's actually a great little restaurant overlooking the airstrip and the kids can eat dinner and watch the helicopters land and take off and the private jets come right to the tarmac under the windows to let out their VIP passengers; it's really fun for the kids and gives them something to watch and discuss while the mommies gossip and enjoy a cocktail (1!!).

Tonight, we have been invited to another dear friend's house. The mommie is one of my very BFFs and her daughter, Olivia, is Lindsey's BFF and her son is Jamie's future boyfriend. Niiiice!! Anyway, Mrs. Pam is famous for making breakfast for dinner. She takes potatoes O'brien and scrambles in egg and cheese and it is soo good! Lindsey calls it "Scrambled Olivia" - so cute!! What will we take with us? Well, I happen to know that Mrs. Pam ADORES dark chocolate so I am taking some truffles - also, my girls didn't like Nutella (whaaaaat?!?!?!) so I am going to give her a brand new container of that, too. (cause if it stays here, I will EAT it. ALL.) BTW: her hubby will be gone too since he is a Fire Chief (HOT!)and he works 24 hour shifts.

Tomorrow, we will be visiting a friend up the street. Her hubby left yesterday for a business trip and will be gone until Sat, so she and her darling son are hosting dinner for me and my girlies. She is a great cook and addicted to AllRecipes.com so dinner is sure to be fantastic! (Have you tried that website? LOVE IT!!)

Then rAc will be home late tomorrow night and Saturday I head into DC with a gaggle of girl friends for the DC Food Show! YAY Can't wait!!

So the week has flown by with out rAc and although we miss him and can't wait for him to come home, we have had fun and it's been nice not to have to cook dinner every night and see our friends!
