Lilly P. Bunk Beds

Hi Preps,

So we are back from the beach a magnificent time was had by all. Although, being with 4 children under the age of 5 was not exactly relaxing... but still it's always nice to get away and play in the sand!

As for the friend update from the last post - One friend did the right thing, chose the correct path and is diligently working his way back to us all. Friend two is gone. Good riddance, we all say.

SO, let's put that S**T behind us, shall we, and get on to fun Pretty Purchases!!
Take a look at THIS!!



Eldest Preppy Girl just turned 5 and got a bunk bed!! So exciting!! And so we purchased all new bedding (sheets, pillow cases and comforters). I had seen these cute patterns by Lilly Pulitzer in the Garnet Hill catalog and then one day found out that it was going to be on the discount site, RuLaLa - so I grabbed it all up!!

How do you like it?!?!





I am not sure how she actually slept last night because she was so excited but I slept on the bottom bunk and she slept fitfully on the top bunk. Tonight will be better, I'm sure. And of course, the next rainy day I will have to show her how to make a bunk bed fort... remember that? Her room is so cute and the perfect little girl's room! Her orginal bed was moved into Little Preppy Girl's room and I will post pics when I get that all put together, too.

All for now, Preps.... We start Kindergarten on the 7th and I can hardly wait for some peace and quiet!! It's been a loooooooooong summer!!

Salty Air and Ocean Breeze

Hi Preps,

Off to Topsail Island, NC we go!! Woke the 2PreppyGirls up at 5:15 and on the road by 5:30 - they're so excited!! Hoping to be there by noon(ish)!

We will be there with dear friends and also my brother's family - also, a few of my neighbors will be there the same week - should be a great combo and super fun week!

I really need it, Preps. It's been a hard week. An egregious betrayal of some friends has occured. One whom I will never speak to again and one whom I am hoping can fix the situation and come back to us all. I can't go into details, too many mutual friends... But betrayal is a hard hard thing to deal with. Mourning the loss of a friend and possibly two is heartbreaking.

Also, earlier this week, I found out that a class mate of mine from boarding school died suddenly from a stroke. RANDOM. We are only 40! I feel so terrible for the hole she is leaving behind, her husband and young children and parents...

And maybe some of you readers have seen that a few other Preppy Bloggers are experiencing diificulties as well this week... Mean People, Sick Family Members...sometimes it's all just too much.

And so off to the beach. Perfect timing. Sitting on the soft sand with a drink, watching our darling children enjoy what this life has to offer before they have to grow up and endure any heartbreak of their own. Heaven forbid they have to endure any heartbreak while they are still children. Seagulls squaking, crashing waves, salty air, flapping of beach umbrellas. Long walks looking for shells. Watching Mr. 2PG dig holes for the children because even on the beach, he needs a project, LOL!

Dear Beach,
please wash it all away. Please make it all better. Please offer your magnificent prospective and impart peace to paths still unknown.

Hi Preps!

You may remember the post; Devestated Preppy Girl. You can read it HERE. It was about my dear friend Suzanne who had been diagnosed with Stage 4 (bone) cancer.


MY, HOW THINGS HAVE CHANGED!!!!!

Suzanne recently found herself on a cancer blog (something she swore she would never do since she found it pretty depressing) and was chatting with another gal who gave her the name of a wonderful Doctor in Atlanta.

Suz decided to be her own best advocate and have Georgetown Univ. Hosp. send her tissue samples, etc to this new doctor. Nothing like a fresh pair of eyes!

After the Emory University pathologist's office had examined her tumor sample, the new determination was that she has Embryonal Rhabdomyosarcoma. It's primarily found in CHILDREN, which makes Suzanne an anomoly, which is another reason why her two hospitals thus far hadn't diagnosed it correctly!!! Anyway, this seems to all make sense now, after her mother called to remind her that she had two surgeries between 9 months and 18 months for a recurring "cyst" on her throat. Turns out that may have been sarcoma in the very beginning!! And then waited 40 years to re-appear?!?!?!

SO, the new prognosis is that this is ENTIRELY CURABLE and by this time next summer she may be able to say, I USED TO HAVE CANCER BUT NOW IT'S GONE!!!!!

I can't tell you how happy this news has made so many of us!! Suzanne is just such a wonderful person and has remained positive and humorous throughout this whole ordeal... We are over the moon with joy and look forward to many joyous parties later this summer!!!!!
